OMV Petrom and Simtel Team have signed an EPC contract for a battery energy storage system at the Işalniţa solar park in Dolj County. The construction is expected to be completed in about seven months. The battery system will have a capacity of 20 MW and store 40 MWh of energy, enhancing the integration of renewable sources and improving grid stability. The Işalniţa park will have an installed capacity of approximately 89 MWp, generating around 130 GWh of renewable energy annually. OMV Petrom aims to strengthen its electricity portfolio with various projects in Romania and Bulgaria.
