Leu filed a complaint with DIICOT, leading to five search warrants executed in various locations. The case involves organized crime and serious fraud, with accusations that Georgescu and his associates misled Leu into a fraudulent business deal involving precious metals. They allegedly required a guarantee of 1.1 million euros for a loan that was never granted, with funds possibly diverted to Georgescu's presidential campaign. The investigation includes other individuals, such as Ionel Rusen and Massimiliano Arena, who were also implicated in the scheme.
