She emphasized that the new government may renegotiate this measure. Vasilescu dismissed claims of a 27-fold increase in property taxes, explaining that the transition to market value taxation is part of existing legislation and was previously discussed with international bodies. She provided examples showing that tax increases would not be as drastic as suggested. Furthermore, she assured that local taxes in Craiova will not rise compared to last year, nor will they reflect inflation rates.
