Călin Georgescu has been placed in preventive detention for 30 days by the Bucharest Court of Appeal, alongside businessman Ionel Rusen, in a case investigated by DIICOT. The court rejected their appeals and upheld the request for preventive arrest due to allegations of fraud involving 1.1 million euros. Following the decision, Georgescu was taken into custody by police and transported to the Central Arrest facility. Supporters gathered outside the court during the proceedings, while security measures were heightened in anticipation of the ruling. Georgescu had previously been under judicial control before this decision was made.
