A nor’easter storm revealed remnants of the Warren Sawyer shipwreck, which sank in 1884 near Nantucket. The storm's waves brought ashore wooden beams from the vessel, which was transporting cotton and scrap iron. All crew members survived the wreck, and local residents often recovered items from shipwrecks. This incident serves as a reminder of Nantucket's maritime history, where over 700 shipwrecks occurred in the 19th century. Similar fragments were found earlier in 2023 near the original wreck site.
