Oamenii vorbesc tot mai puțin: pierdem sute de cuvinte din conversații

A recent analysis reveals a significant decline in daily word usage, with people speaking about 338 fewer words each year. This trend is more pronounced among those under 25, who average a decrease of 451 words annually. The study, which included 2,197 participants, suggests that the rise of digital communication and self-service options may contribute to this decline. Despite speaking less, silence is increasingly marketed as a wellness trend, with practices like 'silent walking' gaining popularity. Researchers express concern that reduced conversation may lead to weakened social connections, highlighting the potential risks of social isolation.
