The Sourasky Medical Center in Tel Aviv will be the first in the world to recruit patients for a clinical study on an experimental treatment targeting KRAS mutations in pancreatic cancer. The study will evaluate SIL204, developed by Silexion Therapeutics, which uses small interfering RNA to suppress mutant KRAS gene expression in tumor cells. KRAS mutations are present in about 90% of pancreatic cancer cases and are a major factor in tumor growth. The initial phase will involve around 18 patients, focusing on treatment safety, with plans to expand to other countries. This study represents a significant step in pancreatic cancer treatment.
