Oamenii de știință descoperă o legătură surprinzătoare între pisici și fericire în 93 de țări

A recent international study found a correlation between cat ownership and happiness across 93 countries. The research, published in PLOS One, analyzed happiness scores alongside cat populations and wealth levels. It also examined the impact of Toxoplasma gondii, a parasite linked to mental health issues, which is primarily hosted by cats. The findings suggest that countries with more cats reported higher happiness levels, while those with greater exposure to the parasite reported lower happiness. Wealthier nations tend to have more cats and better veterinary access, leading to healthier indoor cats. The study emphasizes that these associations are at the country level, not individual, and future research may explore the direct relationship between cat ownership and personal happiness.
