Oamenii de știință au reușit în sfârșit să reproducă o minune a antichității: „Pentru mine, este magie”
Scientists at the University of Sheffield have successfully replicated the optical effects of the ancient Roman Lycurgus Cup, a remarkable feat of engineering. This 1,600-year-old artifact changes color based on light angle, showcasing early nanotechnology. The team, led by Dr. Lisa Hollands, incorporated gold and silver nanoparticles into glass, allowing it to shift from green to red. The original cup features a mythological scene and was recognized as one of the seven wonders of glass. Hollands expressed her passion for the project, noting the challenges faced in reproducing such an intricate design.
