Oamenii de știință au aflat de ce inima nu se poate repara singură după un infarct. Descoperirea ar putea duce la noi tratamente
Researchers have identified a mechanism that hinders heart regeneration after an infarct, focusing on the protein CHST7. This discovery could lead to new therapies for cardiac tissue repair. The study reveals that CHST7 inhibits cellular reprogramming by activating the CD44 receptor, which stabilizes cardiac cell identity. By blocking the enzyme PIP4K2C alongside reprogramming therapy, significant improvements in heart function were observed in mice. This research highlights a promising therapeutic target for enhancing heart regeneration.
