O unitate a unei centrale nucleare japoneze a fost oprită în urma unei scurgeri de substanțe radioactive cauzată de o defecțiune tehnică
The Onagawa nuclear power plant's second unit in Japan will be shut down for ten days due to a radioactive leak caused by a faulty valve. Tohoku Electric Power reported that the leak was minor and posed no environmental threat. The plant is undergoing inspections and component replacements. Previously, the facility had been shut down in May after another radioactive steam leak. Following the Fukushima disaster in 2011, Japan halted all nuclear operations, but is now gradually restarting reactors under stricter safety measures. Currently, 14 reactors are operational, with the government supporting the resumption of inactive ones.
