O țară tocmai a săpat un tunel de 11 kilometri prin Himalaya. Proiectul feroviar gigantic traversează 100 de kilometri pe sub munte
A significant milestone has been achieved in the Rishikesh–Karnprayag railway project with the completion of the 10.8 km Escape Tunnel-1 in the Himalayas. This ambitious project aims to connect the plains with the lower Himalayas and features a total length of approximately 125 km, primarily underground to protect the environment. The construction, managed by RVNL, includes a 15.1 km mega-tunnel, which will be India's longest railway tunnel. The project is expected to significantly reduce travel time and has strategic military importance due to its proximity to the India-China border. Despite geological challenges, the project is progressing, with completion now anticipated by late 2028 or early 2029.
