O țară NATO deschide calea pentru arme nucleare pe teritoriul său. Amenințarea Rusiei schimbă regulile

Lithuania's parliament has voted to advance a constitutional amendment to lift the ban on nuclear weapons deployment, amid rising tensions with Russia. This move aims to enhance Lithuania's deterrence capabilities in response to Russia's aggressive policies. The proposal received significant support, passing the first reading with 106 votes in favor. The amendment seeks to repeal Article 137, which currently prohibits weapons of mass destruction and foreign military bases. A final vote is expected in January, and while the change would remove constitutional barriers, it does not automatically authorize nuclear weapons deployment in Lithuania.
