O stagiară canadiană la NATO, arestată sub suspiciunea de spionaj
Belgian authorities have arrested a Canadian intern at NATO on suspicion of espionage for China. The woman, of Chinese descent, was working at NATO's military headquarters in Mons. Prosecutors allege she was involved in espionage activities and linked to a criminal organization. Despite the arrest, NATO officials state that operational readiness has not been compromised. Security checks for NATO interns are the responsibility of their home countries, in this case, Canada. The 2022 NATO Strategic Concept identifies China as a systemic challenge to Euro-Atlantic security.
