A new Interventional Cardiology Department has been inaugurated at the County Hospital in Galați, funded by over 22.5 million lei, enhancing treatment for severe cardiac conditions. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology, including angiography systems for complex procedures. Last year, nearly 3,000 patients were treated in cardiology, with over 1,500 requiring intensive coronary therapy. The new department features 80 medical devices and aims to improve the hospital's capacity to diagnose and treat cardiovascular diseases. However, staffing challenges remain, as the hospital seeks to recruit five additional cardiologists to access health ministry funds.
