The GPT-6 Astra model took about six hours to reveal its content from a single image of the document. The letter, sent by Eugène de Beauharnais to Marshal Auguste de Marmont, contained military information about French and allied troop positions. The AI utilized a previously created table of symbols to assist in deciphering the message. Although the decoded content was not a major historical secret, the experiment demonstrates the potential of AI in decoding other unresolved historical documents.
