Romanian director and actress Alina Șerban premieres her debut feature film "I Matter" at the Venice Film Festival, marking a significant milestone as the first Roma female director to showcase a feature at a major festival. The film, based on her life experiences, tells the story of a young Roma woman studying acting while facing challenges related to her identity and living independently. Șerban expresses both pressure and gratitude for this achievement, aiming to portray Roma characters beyond stereotypes. The premiere will feature nearly 24 cast members, including 16 children from an orphanage, highlighting the film's themes of dignity and identity.
