O nouă specie de pisică sălbatică a fost descoperită în Bolivia

A new wild cat species, named "leopardus tilcayo," has been discovered in Bolivia, marking the first such finding in over a century. The small feline, measuring about 45 centimeters, was found in the Los Yungas region. It has a spotted coat and rounded ears, resembling a domestic cat. The species was identified after genetic analysis of two individuals, one of which was rescued from a family that mistook it for a regular cat. This discovery is significant as no new wild cat species has been described since 1923, and the tilcayo is currently considered endangered.
