The Ministry of Finance has launched a new edition of the Tezaur program, allowing Romanians to purchase state bonds with interest rates up to 7.15% per year, tax-free. The bonds are available for purchase from September 7 to October 2, 2026, with varying deadlines depending on the purchase method. Interest rates are set at 6.20% for one-year bonds, 6.75% for three-year bonds, and 7.15% for five-year bonds, paid annually. The program is open to individuals aged 18 and older, and the funds raised will support budget deficit financing and public debt refinancing. Online purchases are facilitated through Ghișeul.ro, and the bonds are transferable and redeemable in advance.
