Archaeologists in Pompeii have unveiled a vaulted ceiling adorned with a fresco depicting Greek mythology, particularly the story of Dionysus and Ariadne. This fresco completes a banquet hall's decor, with more fragments yet to be discovered and restored. Pompeii, buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a major tourist attraction. The fresco was presented during an international workshop on new findings in the ancient city. Additionally, a significant spa complex was discovered, believed to be one of the largest private baths in Pompeii, showcasing how private residences were used for social display. Recent exhibitions have also featured plaster casts of victims from the volcanic eruption, capturing their final moments.
