Electrica has signed a contract to develop a high-efficiency cogeneration plant in Craiova, which will provide thermal energy and electricity. The plant is designed to be flexible and hydrogen-ready, replacing coal-based sources and significantly reducing emissions. It will have an installed electric power of approximately 82 MW and thermal capacity of about 179 Gcal/h. The project aims to enhance energy efficiency and support competitive heating costs. Electrica plans to secure financing of up to 8.7 billion RON for this initiative, contributing to its strategy of expanding production capacities.
