O industrie invizibilă susține alimentația globală. Ce arată un studiu realizat în 64 de țări
A significant portion of the global food system relies on informal workers, crucial for food supply, especially in low and middle-income countries. A study analyzed 327 research papers from 64 countries, highlighting the challenges faced by informal food vendors. The lack of a clear definition of informal work complicates public policy, and attempts to formalize these jobs often fail due to registration costs. Women dominate this sector but face barriers to resources. Recommendations include improving infrastructure, providing social protection, and supporting women financially, emphasizing the need for policies that recognize the importance of informal labor in urban food security.
