O ieșeancă ce s-a împrumutat de la un IFN s-a trezit că are de rambursat o sumă de șase ori mai mare • Newsweek România
A woman from Iași faced a shocking debt situation after borrowing from a non-banking financial institution. When she struggled to pay her installments, the lender demanded the entire loan amount, including future interest. The woman initially borrowed 5,200 lei, but due to high interest rates, her total repayment was set to exceed 30,000 lei. After falling behind on payments, the lender declared the entire debt due, which included excessive anticipated interest. The Consumer Protection Authority intervened, confirming that the lender's demand for anticipated interest was illegal. The woman was found to owe only a fraction of the original amount, leading to a fine for the lender and a recalculation of her debt.
