Andrea Chiș, a former judge, is the proposed candidate for the Ministry of Justice by PNL-USR-UDMR in the new government. This decision follows a failed attempt by Dominic Fritz to secure the ministry for USR, leading to an agreement to nominate an independent candidate. Chiș, who retired from the judiciary in 2023, previously served as a member of the Superior Council of Magistracy and was a lecturer at UBB Cluj. The leaders of PNL, USR, and UDMR have resolved their discussions regarding the government structure, with the new cabinet list to be submitted to Parliament soon. The government will include ministers from PNL, USR, UDMR, and independents.
