O femeie ar fi fost rege în Egiptul Antic acum 5.000 de ani. Descoperirea care rescrie istoria faraonilor

Recent digital research on ancient Egyptian seals reveals that Meretneith was not just a queen but ruled as a true pharaoh over 5,000 years ago, predating Sobekneferu. This study, published in Prague Egyptological Studies, utilized advanced imaging techniques to uncover her name on royal seals, indicating her significant status as a female ruler. Despite her prominence, her status has been debated, with evidence of her royal burial and inscriptions found in notable necropolises. Researchers suggest she may have started her political career as a co-regent with her father, Djer, and later served as regent for her son, Den, during his minority.
