A Russian Shahed drone struck a passenger train locomotive in Odesa, Ukraine, killing the engineer and assistant while all 340 passengers were safely evacuated. The drone was detected before the attack, and the train was approaching a station for a safe stop. Despite efforts to protect the passengers, the crew could not fully stop the train in time. Ukrzaliznytsia condemned the attack as a deliberate act against civilians, occurring during a wave of Russian assaults on Ukraine. Ukrainian Air Forces reported that 133 drones were launched by Russia, with 111 intercepted.
