A Russian Shahed drone struck a passenger train locomotive in Odesa, Ukraine, killing the engineer and assistant while all 340 passengers were safely evacuated. The drone was detected before the attack, and the train was approaching a station for a safe stop. Despite efforts to protect the passengers, the crew could not fully stop the train in time. The attack is considered a deliberate assault on civilians amid a new wave of Russian drone strikes, with 133 drones launched overnight, of which 111 were intercepted.
