Archaeologists discovered 23 archaeological sites along the Caransebeș-Lugoj railway modernization route, including a Bronze Age necropolis with over 500 cremation graves. The findings span more than three millennia, revealing insights into ancient communities. Notable artifacts include stone tools and a volcanic obsidian fragment, indicating long-distance connections. Research also uncovered settlements from the Roman period and early Middle Ages, contributing to the understanding of the region's historical habitation.
