Drivers entering Ghimbav from Brașov often face traffic jams at the roundabout on DN 1, especially during peak hours. To alleviate congestion, the Ghimbav City Hall has initiated a project to reconfigure the intersection and expand a section of Pieții Street, with an estimated cost of 1,269,045 lei plus VAT. The current roundabout was designed for lower traffic volumes, which have significantly increased over the years. The planned improvements include an additional lane at the roundabout and a dedicated right-turn lane from Pieții Street to enhance traffic flow and reduce vehicle interactions. Sidewalks will also be renovated, and green spaces added, aiming to improve both traffic conditions and the area's appearance.
