After discovering her account was empty, she alerted the authorities, leading to an investigation. The caregiver, a 40-year-old Italian woman, exploited the elderly woman's vulnerability by transferring funds to her own account using a financial app installed on the victim's phone. In total, the caregiver stole €13,000 through three transactions. She has been officially reported for theft and fraud, and the investigation is ongoing to recover the stolen funds.
