Feliks, an eastern imperial eagle, has returned to Serbia after being rescued from traffickers. The Serbian Bird Protection Society facilitated his repatriation following a difficult journey through Syria and Lebanon. After being monitored during migration, Feliks was kidnapped by traffickers, who later demanded a ransom. He was eventually returned to a wildlife center in Beirut before being repatriated by Serbian soldiers. The eastern imperial eagle is critically endangered, with conservation efforts increasing its population from one breeding pair in 2017 to 29 pairs in 2026.
