In the first nine months of 2026, new car registrations in Romania decreased by 10.62% compared to the same period in 2025, totaling 97,210 units. September 2026 saw an 11.2% drop in new registrations, with 11,068 units. Electric vehicles experienced significant growth, with 7,889 units sold, marking a 45.4% increase. In contrast, gasoline and diesel vehicles saw substantial declines. Used car registrations also fell, with 227,107 units registered in the first nine months of 2026, down 13.6% from 2025.
