Nuclearelectrica vrea să împrumute 800 de milioane de euro de la BEI / Banii ar urma să fie folosiți pentru retehnologizarea Unității 1 a Centralei de la Cernavodă

Nuclearelectrica plans to secure an €800 million loan from the European Investment Bank for the modernization of Unit 1 at the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant. This proposal will be presented for approval at the General Shareholders' Meeting at the end of October. The financing will be divided into two contracts of €400 million each, expected to be signed in 2026 and early 2027. The project is currently in its second development phase, which includes obtaining necessary permits and contracting engineering services. The final phase will involve major renovations and is scheduled for 2027-2030. Unit 1 has been operational since 1996, significantly contributing to CO2 emissions reduction.
