Nuclearelectrica închide Reactorul 1 de la Cernavodă din cauza scăderii debitului Dunării. Ar putea urma și oprirea celui de-al doilea reactor
Nuclearelectrica has announced the controlled shutdown of Reactor 1 at the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant due to extremely low Danube water levels caused by severe drought. This is the first such measure since 2003. The reactor will be disconnected from the National Energy System on July 28, 2026. If the hydrological situation worsens, Reactor 2 may also need to be shut down. The company emphasizes that this preventive action does not compromise nuclear safety or the environment, and the Danube's flow is being continuously monitored.
