Nuclearelectrica: Ambele reactoare ale centralei CNE Cernavodă oprite, fără niciun risc operațional sau de securitate nucleară asociat
Nuclearelectrica confirmed that both reactors at Cernavodă are safely shut down without operational or nuclear security risks due to low Danube water levels. The first reactor was closed on July 28, and the second on August 13, impacting Romania's energy supply. The government has approved emergency measures to ensure adequate cooling water for the plant, including dredging and increasing water flow from the Olt River. Despite efforts to maintain Reactor 2's operation, the measures only extended its functionality for a few days.
