Traffic on the Transfăgărășan will be completely blocked for a triathlon event on Saturday, September 5, 2026. The closure affects a 54-kilometer stretch from Vidraru Dam to Bâlea Lac, from 07:00 to 18:00. This follows previous restrictions earlier in the week for other events. The National Road Infrastructure Administration announced the temporary closure for the TRANSFIER 2026 competition, which includes swimming, cycling, and running.
