Romania has halted gas imports from Bulgaria at the Kardam/Negru Vodă point, traditionally a major entry point. Daily imports of 12-13 million cubic meters have dropped to 1.8 million cubic meters via a less-used route. The interruption is due to Bulgarian maintenance work aimed at increasing capacity. Consequently, gas storage levels in Romania have decreased, with only 9.8 million cubic meters injected compared to the usual average. Exports to Hungary have also fallen significantly. Romanian suppliers are now directly delivering gas to Moldova, while storage facilities are currently at 80% capacity, expected to exceed 90% by the end of the injection cycle. The situation varies across Europe, with Germany lagging behind in gas storage.
