The U.S. is addressing the nursing shortage crisis by introducing a robot designed for blood collection, named Aletta, which has received official approval. This technology uses infrared light and ultrasound to accurately locate veins, automating the entire blood collection process. The FDA approved Aletta after clinical data showed it performs as effectively as human operators. While the robot is highly automated, a nurse must initiate and supervise the procedure, allowing one nurse to manage multiple devices simultaneously, thus improving service efficiency.
