The new "Dan Păltinișanu" stadium in Timișoara is set to proceed after the contract for its design and construction was signed. The stadium will accommodate 32,000 spectators and is expected to cost around 603 million lei. It aims to host not only football matches but also major sports events and concerts. The project faced a complex bidding process, finalized by the National Investment Company. The government has approved four major sports infrastructure projects, with a total investment of approximately 1.4 billion lei. Local authorities will cover 25% of the costs, while the state budget will provide the remaining 75%. The next step for Timișoara is to complete the technical project before construction begins, replacing the old stadium demolished in 2025.
