The new Minister of Defense, Ştefan Radu Oprea, announced the initiation of a control check on contracts related to the SAFE program by sending the Control Corps to the General Directorate for Armaments. He clarified the distinction between procurement contracts and industrial cooperation agreements, emphasizing that the latter is managed by the Ministry of Economy. Oprea highlighted that decisions regarding equipment procurement were made at the Prime Minister's Chancellery, where various ministries participated. He expressed the need for the involvement of both the Defense and Economy ministers in these discussions to better represent Romania's interests.
