The new platform for paying the road tax and TollRo is operational as of October 1, 2026. Users can create accounts, register vehicles, and manage payments through the official website etoll.ro and the TollRo mobile app. Despite previous technical issues reported during testing, the system is now functional. Payments can also be made at CNAIR sales points and authorized distributors. In case of system malfunctions, users will not be penalized for non-payment during outages, and the toll will be calculated based on available data. A legislative proposal to suspend fines for non-payment until March 31, 2027, is currently under discussion in Parliament.
