This project aims to enhance Moldova's energy security and independence. The line will link the Strășeni station in Moldova to the Gutinaș station in Romania, facilitating direct access to the European energy market. The Moldovan government supports this initiative, emphasizing its strategic importance amid the country's reliance on imported electricity. The new interconnection is designed to improve transfer capacity and ensure a more secure energy supply for Chișinău.
