Nouă harta administrativă a Republicii Moldova: 3 regiuni și 273 de primării. Ce se întâmplă cu raioanele
The Moldovan government proposes a new administrative-territorial configuration with 273 mayoralties and three regions. Chișinău and Bălți will retain their municipality status, while Taraclia is set to become a second-level municipality. The reform aims to strengthen mayoralties by increasing their populations and resources, enabling better project implementation. The average population of a mayoralty, excluding major cities, is expected to rise significantly. The government anticipates that the new structure will enhance investment attraction and has allocated over 4.2 billion lei for related projects. A consultation process for the necessary legislation will begin soon, with a transition planned for local elections in 2027.
