Nou record istoric pentru euro: 5,35 lei la cursul BNR
The euro reached a record high against the Romanian leu, surpassing 5.35 lei, as reported by the National Bank of Romania. The exchange rate was set at 5.3527 lei per euro, marking a significant depreciation of the leu. Additionally, the leu weakened against the US dollar but appreciated against the Swiss franc. The National Bank noted a decrease in foreign reserves by 4.8 billion euros at the end of September. Despite the volatility, BNR's spokesperson stated that a collapse of the leu is not expected.
