On October 8, the new bridge over the Tisza River and the Sighetu Marmației – Bila Țerkva border crossing will officially open. The border point will be operational with all necessary authorities and systems in place. The government approved the opening of this international border crossing on September 18, allowing for road traffic, goods, and pedestrian transport. The opening will occur in phases, starting with vehicles under 3.5 tons, followed by heavier vehicles and pedestrian traffic. By December 31, 2027, the crossing will fully operate for both pedestrian and vehicle traffic, with specific restrictions for emergency services and diplomatic passport holders. The Ministry of Transport will manage the border crossing.
