Noi măsuri pentru protejarea oamenilor de atacurile de urs. Nicușor Dan a semnat decretul
Nicușor Dan has signed a decree introducing new regulations for dealing with brown bear attacks, amending OUG no. 81/2021 to enhance authorities' response capabilities. The law, which faced scrutiny and reexamination, sets nearly double the quotas for bear management in 2026 compared to 2024. The preventive quota is set at 859 bears, while the intervention quota is 110. Despite Dan's concerns about the law's compliance with habitat directives, the Constitutional Court dismissed his objections. The Senate upheld the law, with a significant majority supporting it. Key provisions include restrictions on hunting in certain areas, reflecting a population of approximately 12,800 brown bears in Romania.
