Vasile Moldoveanu, father-in-law of former presidential candidate Călin Georgescu, was summoned by DIICOT as a witness in a fraud case involving a €1.1 million alleged loss. The investigation focuses on a transfer of 118,000 lei from Moldoveanu's account to businessman Răzvan Leu, who filed the complaint leading to the case. Georgescu has been placed in preventive detention for 30 days, a decision confirmed by the Bucharest Court of Appeal. Similar measures were taken against businessman Ionel Rusen in the same investigation.
