Nofar pregătește noi capacități de stocare în România
Nofar Energy has commenced energy storage projects in Romania following the launch of its solar parks Iepurești and Ghimpați, totaling over 315 MWp. The company has already manufactured batteries en route to Romania and aims to develop storage systems matching the production capacity of its solar parks. Ofer Yannay, the founder, emphasized the necessity of storage to avoid negative pricing in solar energy. Nofar is advancing with construction and has secured necessary permits and contracts. The storage systems will be integrated with the solar parks and can operate independently. However, recent regulatory changes have created financial challenges for the company, including a new guarantee requirement for grid connection. Nofar's solar projects are financed through a €110 million package from the EBRD and Raiffeisen Bank International, with a total portfolio of around 800 MW of solar projects and 1.9 GWh of storage capacity in Romania.
