Nivelurile scăzute ale Dunării generează exporturi record de energie electrică din Bulgaria și venituri suplimentare de milioane de euro

Bulgaria is benefiting from increased electricity exports due to the current Danube crisis, generating millions in additional revenue. Energy Minister Iva Petrova highlighted that the country exports between 32,000 and 33,000 megawatt-hours daily, aided by strong interconnections with the regional energy market. She noted that the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant is monitoring low water levels in the Danube, which are at historic lows. Despite the dynamic situation, Bulgaria has sufficient capacity to meet domestic demand, including thermal plants and battery storage systems. The rapid development of battery storage has added over 6 gigawatts in less than a year, enhancing the energy system's resilience.
