Romanian President Nicușor Dan will meet former German Chancellor Angela Merkel at the Cotroceni Palace for the launch of her memoirs. The event is scheduled for September 1, 2023, at 12:30 PM. Merkel's book, 'Libertate. Amintiri 1954 – 2021', reflects on her 16 years in office. She will also engage in a public dialogue with journalist Emil Hurezeanu at the Romanian Athenaeum, which will include simultaneous translation. This visit marks one of the few times Merkel has personally promoted her book in Romania, following events in other major cities.
